Besiktas are reportedly working on luring in Davy Klaassen who is on his way out of Inter Milan following a solitary campaign.

The 31-year-old signed for the Nerazzurri on a free transfer on last summer’s deadline day after rescinding his contract with Ajax. He penned a one-year deal with an option for a second.

However, the former Everton man hasn’t been able to cement himself as an important player at Simone Inzaghi’s court.

The Dutchman has only made 17 appearances for the club across all competitions, with the vast majority coming off the bench.

Therefore, all accounts agree that Klaassen will leave Appiano Gentile following his underwhelming campaign. He will be able to sign for a new club as a free agent.

According to Fanatik via FcInter1908, Besiktas are keen to sign the Netherlands international.

The Turkish giants endured a disappointing campaign and will be looking to revamp their squad this summer.

Hence, this revolution could include the arrival of an experienced midfielder in the shape of Klaassen.

Besiktas Looking To Sign Inter Milan Midfielder Davy Klaassen On Free Transfer

The source claims the Istanbul-based club has already contacted the player through Samet Ayaba. The latter acts as the head of the club’s football sector.

The director has reportedly sent an official proposal to the Inter player. The offer included a salary of 3 million euros per season.

However, the source believes Besiktas could face competition from other suitors. The report mentions interest from Serie A clubs as well as Dutch sides.

Klaassen started his career at Ajax and then had spells at Everton and Werder Bremen before returning to the Amsterdam-based club for a second stint in 2020.
