Federico Dimarco feels that unity in the squad was key to Inter Milan winning the Serie A title this season.

The 26-year-old spoke to Italian broadcaster RAI Sport, via FCInterNews. He gave his thoughts on the Nerazzurri’s Scudetto triumph.

It had looked inevitable for a couple months that Inter would win the Serie A title sooner or later.

And last week in the derby against AC Milan, the Nerazzurri clinched it.

It was a dramatic, and historic, occasion in which to do so.

Neither Inter nor their city rivals the Rossoneri had every clinched a title in the derby. So that gave the circumstances an even greater sense of triumph for Inter.

But the title was not won in ninety minutes plus stoppage time against Milan.

Inter have been relentlessly consistent all season long.

The Nerazzurri have scored the most goals in Serie A, conceded the fewest, and kept the most clean sheets.

The end result is that in 38 matches, Inter have won 28, drawn five, and lost just one.

Federico Dimarco: Inter Won Serie A By “Rowing In The Same Direction”

Asked what the “secret” to this success was, Dimarco said that “We’ve been cohesive from start to finish.”

“Something special has been created,” the Italian international continued.

“Between the players, coaching staff, fans, the club directors, the warehouse workers, the physiotherapists.”

“It’s not a coincidence that we achieved this goal,” Dimarco said. “Because we were all rowing in the same direction.”

As far as potential improvements for this time, Dimarco said that “I couldn’t tell you what this team needs to improve on.”

“Right now I’m just enjoying the party.”

“I’d have a hard time giving the right answer to that question,” he said.

As far as a moment when he realized that Inter would win the Serie A title, Dimarco said that “The win in Udine felt like a turning point.”

“Frattesi’s winner in the 96th minute was brilliant,” he added.
