Belgium head coach Domenico Tedesco has responded to the speculation that AC Milan are interested in hiring him to take the place of Stefano Pioli.

It has been widely reported that Gerry Cardinale has decided to change manager in the summer and during his visit to Italy over the last few days he spoke about various profiles in meetings with Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Giorgio Furlani and Geoffrey Moncada.

In the latest discussions Tedesco’s name came up, the current coach of the Belgian national team. He will be occupied during the next European Championships starting in June, but after that he could continue his club career with Milan.

The rumours then went cold for a few days until today when La Gazzetta dello Sport again mentioned him as an alternative to Julen Lopetegui.

Now, an article on Blick.de has provided an update on Tedesco’s situation and it also has some quotes from the form RB Leipzig head coach.

“I extended it [my contract] and thus sent a clear signal – for everyone. For clubs, for players, for the association. I feel right at home here and therefore the things that come from outside don’t affect me much,” he said.

“I think there are always rumours. But then they have less to do with me. They arise, but I’ve decided to stop them not to let anyone get to me.”
